Kratovo Four Gospels

Стари ракописи - колекција во Националната и универзитетска библиотека "Св Климент Охридски"- Скопје е одговорна за откривање, евидентирање, собирање, проучување, држење и кредитирање на старите ракописи од Македонија. Збирката содржи 244 ракописи.Еден од најзначајните ракописи во оваа колекција е ‘Четирите кратовски Евангелија ‘од македонската книжевна школа кој датира од средината на14 век.Од овој ракопис се сочувани 151страница. Се смета дека е напишан од три различни луѓе. Во ракописот се сочувани и две знамиња:едно на почетокот на Евангелието на Марко,лист бр.39 и на почетокот на Евангелието на Лука,лист.69.Постои зелена линија на која со црвени букви е напишан насловот.Јасно е дека се работи за одреден тип на антички македонски орнаменти карактеристични за 12-ти и13-ти век. Исто така постојат и округли црвени иницијали со свиткани краеви,карактеристични за средината на 14век

The Old Manuscript Collection in the National and University Library "St. Kliment Ohridski"- Skopje is responsible for discovering, recording, collecting, studying, holding and lending of the old manuscripts from Macedonia. The Collection contains 244 manuscripts. One of the most significant  manuscript  in this Collection is the Kratovo Four Gospels from the Macedonian Literary School of Kratovo dating from the middle of the 14th century. From this Manuscript 151 sheets have been preserved. The script of the first two sheets is a nice calligraphic uncial writing from the 14th century; the rest of the text is written with simpler uncial writing, containing semi- uncial elements; it had been written by three different persons. The redaction is Macedonian of the School of Kratovo. The Manuscript has a modest but rather characteristic ornamentation. Two flags have been preserved: one at the beginning of the Gospel of Mark, sheet No.39 and at the beginning of the Gospel of Luke, sheet No.69. There is a green line on which red letters from the title are written- this is a particular type of ancient Macedonian ornamentation characteristic for the 12th and the 13th centuries. There are also round red initials with curved endings, characteristic for the middle of the 14th century.
