For Macedonian Timeline AustraliaMT – you have been in the media world for a long time and have achieved great success, they call you a genius, but how did it start, how did you get into the art of film?
Sime - The Macedonian genius with a global imprint in film. I remember the days when I was eagerly waiting for the weekly movies on television, and then I myself started experimenting with a camera and editing. It all started as a hobby, but then I realized that it would be my life path and my future profession. And so it was, it's like some addiction that makes you create a large influx of ideas, you always have them in your head and you always tell yourself this is the best, but not so best, the one that fits best into that whole during the editing process will be the one that best fits into that whole.
MT – What is your path and recipe for success?
Sime - The key is respect, every culture carries its own values, its own culture, and if you understand them and incorporate them into a film work, success comes naturally. Working on international projects broadened my vision and helped me adapt and progress in this film field. Film is not an easy toy, it requires a lot of finances and a lot of effort, many sleepless nights and consultations with the team.
Absolutely Macedonia has many talented actors and people, more cooperation and connections in international platforms are needed, but the quality is there. My team and I are proof that with hard work and a lot of effort you can reach Berlin, Nice, Hollywood, there is nothing unattainable, everything can be achieved if you work and put in effort.
MT – Who are your collaborators that you would like to mention and what projects can we expect from you soon?
First of all, I get great motivation and support from my colleagues who are always there for me, Goki Admir Zoki Daniel, people with heart and passion. I owe a huge thank you to the golden throat Zlate Antevski, as well as Dzepic, who helped me with his music in key moments, and of course Tajci. Here are my brothers Sashe and Mace, without their faith and support, I could not have achieved anything, and my team Sashe Zoki Zorana Joco Milce Gorancho Cece Klea.
I am preparing a new project that is a co-production between Europe and South America. The topic is very strong and I believe it will attract a lot of attention. I will reveal that I will be working with world-class actors and of course with world-class actor Nesic, my brother, a world-class director from Los Angeles, and I will not reveal anything more. I will reveal more details soon.
Many projects await us, collaborations around the world and I will discover the Balkans. We have started a project with Greece, a beautiful story that we will translate onto the screen. I believe that with Tasios, the Greek director, we will manage to keep the attention of the viewers. We also have projects with Japan, and here a beautiful action film with Lee Kurosawa, a world-class director who was my guest in Skopje and suggested that we work on a beautiful action film with many famous actors with a world name. We will also work on the project with Bosnia with Hadžibegić, and there we will also work on a beautiful story about the unfortunate events in Bosnia. We are thinking that it will be quite moving but it will be true. Then there is the project with the German director Hans, which will also be a top project. This summer will be filled with a lot of work.
