Ensemble of Folk Instruments and Songs "Stefce Stojkovski" - keep Macedonian tradition alive

The Macedonian traditional music and dance seminar, which has my name as a brand, is known on the world music scene, traditional folklore festivals, at the departments of world-famous universities in ethnomusicology, ethnochoreology, musicology, folklore studies and beyond. The need for organizing such a seminar as well as the significance of the existence of such a seminar are enormous for us Macedonians. Namely, through this seminar, which is being organized for the 19th time, the general public is introduced to Macedonian musical traditions, the playing of original and classical instruments, Macedonian songs and dances, the styles and manner of playing, singing and dancing are studied. The seminar is organized for beginners, connoisseurs and more advanced amateur or professional level of participants. The seminar is organized by the members of the ensemble, and the lecturers are prominent and renowned amateurs and professionals in the field of folklore. All visitors who register are introduced to the different folklore traditions by area from all over ethnic Macedonia. Namely, the Stefce Stojkovski ensemble will hold a seminar from June 23-30 in Ohrid where visitors will have the opportunity to delve into the secrets of the Macedonian tradition, songs, dances, produced through traditional musical instruments.

 

A basic segment of folk culture and tradition is folklore, which has played a leading role in the development of Macedonian culture, national cultural identity. Folklore contributes to current and future self-respect and self-acceptance. It is still a field of further research and as an invaluable cultural heritage should be protected by law.
